Work-space, meeting-place, activities open to the public, micro-residencies. Local Exchange Network, action for the urban ecology, artistic projects and social platforms. Experimental collaborative allotment. Educational activities, knowledge exchange, debates, micro-publications. Shared tools, DIY culture, hackculture. The LSM was all of these things, from 2012 until 2017, a hybrid space of research and creative action. A permeable space for working between artistic and social projects, local and extra-local.

LSM was a resident artistic project established at l’Estruch Centre for Artistic Production in Sabadell, a nexus between the town, the centre and its users, becoming a node for rethinking the town based on experimental connections between art, activism, contemporary thought and social commitment; trying out collaborative dynamics, promoting situations for recovering spaces of social and cultural action and relationship.

From the LSM arose proposals for ideas and possible scenarios to encourage creative processes, weaving together formats for propitating dialogue, encouraging networks and interactions, which, from a critical and proactive position, might establish spaces for imagination and domestic resistence, as well as investigations aimed at favouring the creation of new tools and strategies for production, content and collective activism.

The LSM gave space to necessary autonomous micro-responses in order to enrich the landscape of public potentialities, as a way of constructing the commons and recovering, in the citizen imaginary, the possibility of transformation.

The LSM was a project conceived and coordinated by Anna Recasens, and developed in collaboration with the public at large.
